Nob Hill Penthouse

For this high-rise Nob Hill penthouse, with its expansive views of the city and the bay, FD worked with Studio Ahead Design Collective to provide wholly-custom, area rugs throughout the home.

All rugs were crafted according to Studio Ahead’s one-of-a-kind designs. The dining room is grounded by a modern cut from Couristan’s Martineque line. For the primary bedroom, long entry hallway, media room and living room, FD custom cut contrasting colors from Fabrica’s Seduction collection, and seemed them together on site.

The piece de resistance occurs where living room and long hallway rugs meet. Identical, serrated edges were cut into the two rugs. Both were finished with matching border and serge, then laid side by side – creating a striking contrast that grabs your attention and sets the tone for the rest of the penthouse apartment.
