This Lucas Valley home, located in Marin County, California received its first complete Kitchen remodel. The 20+-year-old home was originally built using “builder spec” materials, similar to the other homes in the development.
Montage, European White Oak from the Baroque Collection, in color Russo, with a beautiful UV oil finish was selected for the flooring. The hardwood planks have a natural aged texture that gives them a rustic yet modern look.
Floortex Design, Interior Architect, Ann Roberts then assisted the busy family of 4 (plus the family dog) with the cabinetry selection. The Homeowner decided upon the French Villa Square door style in white, with a contrasting grey island, from Crystal Cabinetry. The door profile
provides a bit of detailing without becoming overly fussy.
Two separate colors were selected for the countertops as well. The perimeter counter is Cambria, Fieldstone, which has minimal pattern, but reads as a solid, so as not to compete with the Vadara, Statuario Venato island. The large flowing veins provide drama and dimension to
this minimal aesthetic. Both are quartz material, and were chosen for their versatility and easy maintenance.
The backsplash is a natural Carrara stone mosaic to add a touch of luxe and bling to compete
the look.
